A wedding anniversary is the day the album comes back out. You might as well take out the best photo and put it in the living room. We engrave photos on slate to order in our workshop in Talais, in the Médoc, and a wedding anniversary lends itself well to it, from the first to the fiftieth.
For your own wedding anniversary
The obvious photo is the one from the big day. Out of the hundreds of photos from the photographer, choose the one where both your faces are large and well lit: the first dance, leaving the town hall, a portrait of the two of you. Group photos with all the guests, engraved on 30 cm, give faces that are too small.
Our square demonstration slate shows a newly married couple’s first dance, photographed with blurred lights behind them. That blur makes the couple stand out, and it shows even more once engraved.
Think about the photo from before, too: the proposal. Our round slate shows one, on the shore of a lake. Given for the first anniversary, it is a nod to the whole story.
What to write
The wedding date is the starting point: “20.07.2024”, with the infinity symbol underneath, as on our slate. You can add your first names or the name of the anniversary: “Cotton anniversary”, “10 years already”. In advanced mode, on the personalisation page, you will also find motifs (heart, infinity, ring) and frames: the laurel wreath on the round slate works very well for 25 or 50 years.
For your parents’ golden anniversary
A gift that means a great deal: your parents’ wedding photo, from forty or fifty years ago, engraved on slate for the family celebration.
Is the photo on paper, in an album? No need for a scanner. Lay the print flat near a window, photograph it with your phone without flash, straight on. Photos from that era are often pale, yellowed or a little blurred. In that case, choose the workshop layout option (€20): we bring the contrast back up, crop in on the faces, and you receive a mockup by email. We only engrave once you approve it.
If the whole family is taking part, delivery is free within France from three slates in the same order: one for the parents and one for each of the children, for example.
Ordering
The slate costs €49.90, engraving and support included. It is engraved within 48 to 72 hours, then delivered in 3 to 5 working days, or you can collect it free of charge from the workshop in Talais. For a family celebration on a fixed date, allow two weeks if you choose the layout option. The “It’s a gift” option at checkout lets you send it straight to the couple’s home, with no invoice in the parcel.
To choose the photo, read engraving a photo on slate, which photo to choose, and if it is for a more recent couple, we also have ideas for Valentine’s Day. To get started: the 30 × 30 cm square slate or the 28 cm round slate, in the shop.
