How we make them

Four steps, one workshop, no middlemen. From the first sketch to the parcel landing on your desk, it is us, and only us, doing the work.

Bespoke design

We start from your logo, a sketch or simply an idea. Our 3D designer models each keyring to measure in our CAD software. You approve a realistic render before anything starts.

3D printing in-house

Your pieces are printed on our own 3D printers in Talais, in eco-friendly PLA, in the colour of your choice. No subcontracting, no imports: you know exactly where every piece comes from.

Hand finishing

Every keyring is deburred, checked, then fitted by hand with its split ring and nickel-plated steel chain. That attention to detail is what turns a print into a finished object.

Inspection & dispatch

Every order is checked piece by piece before being packed in recycled cardboard and shipped to you, anywhere in France and beyond.

Minimum order: 50 pieces. Order 200 keyrings or more and we give you a display stand to show them off on your counter, at a trade show or in your shop. Entirely printed in PLA in our workshop, it is configurable to the number of keyrings you want to display. Real added value to present your giveaways with care.

Our story

One workshop, two enthusiasts,
a local standard

Filon Médoc is a small family outfit born from a simple conviction: you can make quality objects, customised and affordable, without shipping them halfway round the planet. Our workshop sits in Talais, in the north of the Médoc, a stone's throw from the estuary.

All our 3D printers run here. All the rings and chains are stored here. Every parcel leaves from here. When you buy a Filon Médoc keyring, you are not backing an opaque supply chain: you are backing a French workshop you can visit by appointment.

We answer your questions

How long does production take?
Allow a few days to agree the design with you, then 1 to 3 weeks for printing and assembly depending on quantity and products. For large orders (1,000+), we give you a firm date with the quote.
Which colours and materials are available?
More than 20 PLA colours in stock: whites, blacks, greys, golds, blues, reds, greens, translucent, metallic and even glow-in-the-dark. Need a specific shade (Pantone, RAL, corporate brand colours)? We can order any colour on request, with a small surcharge that depends on the quantity. All our PLA is bio-sourced, in line with our environmental commitment: we deliberately do not work with petrochemical materials.
In practice, how do the QR code and the NFC chip work?

The QR code is that little square of pixels you see everywhere (in restaurants, on posters, on train tickets). Your customers simply open the camera on their phone, point it at the keyring, and a notification offers to open the link. Nothing technical, no app to download. The QR is engraved directly into the piece or printed on the back: it is free and included in the price.

The NFC chip (“Near Field Communication”) uses the same technology as contactless card payment. A tiny electronic chip, with no battery and invisible, is encapsulated directly inside the keyring during printing. To use it, your customers simply bring their smartphone close to the keyring (a few centimetres). On Android, the page opens by itself. On iPhone, a notification appears at the top of the screen and you just tap it to open the link. That is a safeguard Apple built in to avoid accidental opens. Allow €0.50 incl. tax extra per piece.

What you can put behind it: your website, an Instagram / Facebook / TikTok page, a Google reviews listing, automatic connection to your venue Wi-Fi, a video, a digital menu, ticketing, a contact form, a digital business card, a loyalty scheme… anything that lives behind a URL.

And above all: you can change that destination at any time from your customer area, without reprinting a single keyring. Ideal for event campaigns or giveaways that need to evolve over time.

Can I order fewer than 50 pieces?
Our minimum order is 50 pieces for custom keyrings, because the design time is shared across the batch. For shorter runs (prototypes, samples, one-off gifts), we offer a per-piece rate: get in touch.
Are my keyrings really made in France?
Yes, 100%. Design, printing, finishing and dispatch all happen in our workshop in Talais (Gironde). The PLA is bought from a European supplier, and the metal rings from a French wholesaler. Workshop visits are possible by appointment.
What if I do not have a file ready?
Not a problem: send us a logo, a photo, a drawing on the back of a napkin, or simply an idea. Our 3D designer comes back with a visual within 48 hours, adjusted until you are happy. The design is included in the price.
